Celebrity Skin: Karina Smirnoff

October 18, 2009 | | Comments 3

karinathumbnailThis month Karina Smirnoff is sharing her skin care routine and favorite products with us. One of the star dancers on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”, Karina Smirnoff has had the good fortune to be on the top 10 rated prime program for the past four years. Now in it’s 9th season, the always fiery and smokin’ hot Karina Smirnoff is dominating the dance floor with pop star Aaron Carter. Born and raised in Ukraine, the multi-talented dancer started to study dance when she was a mere five-year-old. Her parents exposed her to a multitude of activities including ice skating, gymnastics, ballet and piano lessons. Ultimately, it was dance that prevailed. She started to compete in ballroom dancing by age 11. Her family’s move to the U.S. when she was a teenager provided her with new opportunities; however, it was her strict training and the discipline gleaned from growing up in Ukraine that provided her with the foundation that she needed to be a successful competitor.

Currently, Karina is working on a series of dance related instructional DVD’s and a book that will incorporate her passion for dance, exercise and well being to help people get in shape and feel their best. Karina also has special folk remedies for staying fit and healthy that she learned from growing up in Ukraine that she will share. In addition, she is opening up a dance studio in Los Angeles.
My Skin Affair asked Karina about her skin care routine. Enjoy!

Tell us about your skin care routine.

In the morning, I use either a hydrating sunscreen or a moisturizer and sunscreen SPF 30-40. At night after washing my face, I use a toner followed by vitamin C serum.

What are your favorite skin care products?

I love agelock capsules from Nu Skin and Galvanic Spa. For under the eyes, I love to use La Prairie Skin Caviar eye treatment.

What’s in your purse?

Sheer Cover mineral foundation and lip gloss. Love it! Easy and good for your skin. I also use Sircuit Skin Molecular Mist.

How do you pamper your skin?

I use a mask 2-3 times a week – hydrating, clearing, and revitalizing. I also try to get to a sauna and do a pure honey mask there.

Which product is your current “must have”?

Galvanic Spa.

Do you have a favorite spa?

I love Canyon Ranch at the Palazzo in Las Vegas.

Favorite spa treatment?

My favorite treatment at Canyon Ranch is the hot stone massage and oxygen facial.

Favorite tip/advice for skin care?

You are what you eat. Go light on sodium, sugar, and spicy foods. And heavy on water, aloe vera, olive oil.

Thanks Karina!

I am wanting at the moment to obtain some good quality anti aging product but it appears there is little or nothing that might cure my skin. However, if someone really are aware of some treatment method that could possibly make wonders simply let me know and so I most certainly will admire it.
