Celebrity Skin: Clare Kramer

Clare just wrapped the thriller “Endure” starring Devon Sawa and Judd Nelson. She is best known for her role as Glory on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and her portrayal of Courtney in the popular film “Bring It On.”

We interviewed the lovely and talented Clare Kramer and absolutely loved what she had to say. This is a gal who knows and loves her products.

What is your skincare routine?

Every morning I start out cleansing my face with cold water and Cetaphil, just to reawaken the skin. I then moisturize with Estee Lauder DayWear Plus Anti-oxidant Creme, SPF 15. Around my eyes I use Oil of Olay Eye Age Defying Revitalizing Eye Gel. On my body I use the organic line Tranquility. They have a great French Lavender Organic Bath and Body Oil that “inspires relaxation and energy and balances state of mind.” Who doesn’t need that?! Then, every third day or so I’ll apply L’Oreal’s Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion with Vitamin E. I always apply Nivea’s Essential Lip Care from London. I stock up in bulk whenever I’m there because somehow I feel the European version of their line is different. My husband’s in love with it too, so he’s always stealing mine. For a scent, I roll on Zents Sun Attar Oil. It’s subtle, so that’s perfect for me, as I don’t like anything heavy. My evening routine is to always remove eye make-up with Johnson’s Baby Oil Gel (with aloe vera and vitamin E). Now that I have a little one it’s always laying around and I have found a great second life for it as my make-up remover. Then I cleanse with L’Oreal Skin Genesis, a deep purifying foaming cream cleanser. It is just bumpy enough to exfoliate, but gentle enough to use everyday. After drying, I apply Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair – a wonderful product I’ve been using for years. Then on top, Estee Lauder Resilience Lift Extreme OverNight Ultra Firming Creme. After all that’s said and done, it’s the Nivea Lip Care again and I’m off to bed.

What are your favorite products?

Obviously I love the Estee Lauder line. Other favs include: Nivea chap stick, Nivea Soft Intensive Moisturizing Cream (also purchased in bulk when I’m abroad!), Burt’s Bees Dr. Burt’s Herbal Blemish Stick as well as their toner, (which I put in a travel spray bottle from the drug store and apply by spritzing, a trick I learned from a make-up artist.) Secret Drug Store find: Healing Garden’s Green Tea Moisturizer. It’s been a favorite of mine for years!

What’s in your purse?

Several Juicy Tubes from Lancome, several colour juice tubes from L’Oreal, a Nars lip gloss, CleanWell All-Natural Hand Sanitizer made with ingenium, Bath and Body Works Baume Du Jardinier (Gardener’s Hand Healer), Burt’s Bees Farmer’s Friend Hand Salve, Kiss my Face Organic Olive my Body, Softlips Tickled Pink Tinted Lip Conditioner/Sunscreen SPF 15 and my Zents Sun Attar Oil concentrate. Oh, and Neutrogena’s Pure and Free Baby Sunblock Lotion SPF 60 as well as Arbonne’s ABC Sunscreen SPF 30 for the baby.

How do you pamper your skin?

Well, I love to get treatments at spas, but for easy at-home pampering I’ve been known to stand in the shower with the water running extra hot and steam up the bathroom for 10 or so minutes. Also, been known to hop into our hot tub at the end of the day with a mask and hair treatment in and let the heat from the water open my skin up. I also inadvertently end up deep moisturizing my hands every week or so as my husband begs me to give him hand and arm massages which I use a ton of lotion to do.

Is there any product that makes you feel especially spoiled rotten?

I’m still looking for this one! Is there anything that makes you look 5 lbs thinner, more rested, changes diapers and returns e-mails? That’s the one I want!

Do you have a favorite spa?

I would have to say the Spa Montage at the Laguna Beach Montage Hotel. It’s fabulous! The facilities for working out are amazing and their treatments are some of the best I’ve ever had. Their prenatal Marine Algae Wrap was amazing.

Favorite spa treatment?

I’m a sucker for massages so I always go for the hot and cold stone massage, or a reflexology massage. I regularly get mani/pedi’s at home, so I tend to skip over those services at spas. Customized facials are always on my list as well.

Favorite tip/advice for skincare?

My best one was the one by my make-up artist friend who taught me about spritzing on your toner…that way you don’t dry out your skin by applying too much.

Any fabulous baby products you love for your little one?

I absolutely love Arbonne’s ABC Diaper Cream. My little one has never had a diaper rash using this cream. It’s expensive, but totally worth it! I also love MD Moms’ Baby Silk, silky liquid powder.

Thanks Clare!
