Clinique For The Holidays - Three Great Gifts

Clinique has some fantastic holiday gifts this year. There are a few that I really love but being such a big fan of Clinique’s Vitamin C Lip Smoothie, I think my favorite Clinique holiday gift this year is the Smoothie Kisses. Smoothie Kisses is four different mini Lip Smoothies that come in a cute silver mini cosmetics bag. The four shades are Berry Boost, Pink-Me-Up, Mango-Thon and Goodness Grapecious. All great colors! I love the mini versions of the Lip Smoothies and I think it’s always important to have multiple shades of lip colors to choose from. You don’t necessarily need to carry around as many different lip products in your purse as I do! On the days when I have to carry a smaller purse and have to choose only two or three different lip products to carry with me, it’s a tough choice. I always like to have a lip treatment or balm, lipstick and lip gloss on me at all times. With the larger purses that I carry on a daily basis, I like to have those three options in a couple of different shades so that I’m good to go no matter what I’m wearing or if I want less or more color. I keep the more subtle shades and more bold shades in my purse at all times. My lips are beyond prepared! It’s kind of become a little bit of an obsession, but I blame that on all of the amazing companies that send me great products to review. Back to Clinique! Smoothie Kisses is a great gift. I love it! I always have a Clinique Vitamin C Lip Smoothie in my purse. It’s one of my very favorite lip products. So, the mini Smoothie’s are perfect for me. They will definitely save me a little room in my purse!

Clinique’s Total Moisture is another great holiday gift. This gift also comes in a silver cosmetics bag, but the bag is much larger than the Smoothie Kisses cosmetics bag. Ah, Origins! I love Origins so much. It’s one of the lines that I always look forward to reviewing because I’ve been an Origins fan for so many years. Such great products! Origins Make A Difference is an exciting Pink Ribbon product this year. In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, throughout October, Origins will donate $5 from every North American sale of the limited-edition Make A Difference Skin Rejuvenating Treatment to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Make A Difference is a cream-gel moisturizer and I love the way it feels on my skin. Very light weight! Origins says that it’s best for combination oily skin. Hey Beauty! Feeling bright-eyed? I hope so! But, even if you’re not…you can still make your eyes look as bright and beautiful as possible. I have so many favorites right now for eyes, brows and lashes. The products and product options out there just keep getting better and better. And the more you make use of newer and more innovative products, you will see that you can make a huge difference with your own application skills. Take the time to simply experiment with new looks and new products. Start to play with shading and shadows. Don’t save your brand new products for date night and assume that since you bought the recommended products, everything else will just fall into place. This, of course, doesn’t apply to the pro’s. For most of us, it takes some practice and experimenting to figure out what looks best on our faces and how to properly use certain products. So, take the time to play with your new products. It’s so much fun!

Smashbox In Bloom Artificial Light Powder

I love using this Smashbox Powder in the inner corners of my eyes. It’s a great highlighter and brightener. It really adds that extra special pop to my eyes. It gives my eye makeup a sweet and final touch that makes a subtle, but lovely difference. The applicator makes it super easy to use and a little goes a long way. It’s a very soft powder, with a little shimmer. You can use it on the inner corners of eyes, down the bridge of nose, above brows and high on cheekbones. Plus, you can mix a small bit of it with your favorite body lotion and use that on your arms, legs and décolleté for a subtle shimmer. I’ve really been having fun with this product. Play with your Smashbox products and try something new!

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

You have to check out this little treat, new from Clinique. Clinique now has a Bottom Lash Mascara. That’s right! Just for your bottom lashes. The Bottom Lash Mascara brush was “engineered for tiny tasks” and has a formula that resists smears. Clinique says that you can pair it with any mascara on your top lashes. And you do want to apply your regular mascara on your top lashes first. I’m currently still using the Clinique High Lengths Mascara (previously reviewed on My Skin Affair) on my top lashes. So, I’ve got Clinique on my top and bottom lashes and my lashes look great!

Josie Maran Argan Day + Night Eye Cream

Who doesn’t love a good two-in-one? If it’s a good product, there’s nothing better! I was so excited when I first received the Josie Maran Argan Day + Night Eye Cream. And it’s not a two-in-one that’s one product with two benefits. It’s a double-sided package that holds two different eye creams. Love that! The lightweight Argan Day Eye Cream diminishes the appearance of darkness, while adding radiance, and it’s helps holding your eye makeup in place. Fabulous! The Argan Night Eye Cream is very hydrating and reduces puffiness and wrinkles in the eye area. With so many eye creams that are made specifically for day and night…I love that you’ve got both right here, in one package. That gets me excited! Hooray for new products!

Clinique’s Chubby Stick has made it into my purse. I always want it available to me. I’m using the “Whole Lotta Honey” shade and it’s the perfect color for me. It’s very pretty, and on the subtle side. The Chubby Stick is available in eight different tints/shades and they each have a subtle sheen. With shea butter as one of the key ingredients in the Chubby Stick, it is soft and moisturizing. And, by the way, I love all eight shades that the Chubby Stick comes in. They are ALL beautiful colors. You’ll find one that’s perfect for you!

Clinique has made my lips very happy for a long time. I alternate between three different Clinique lip colors, that are all always in my purse. My three Clinique items of choice for my lips are: The Vitamin C Lip Smoothie Antioxidant Lip Colour in “Nude-tritious”. Honestly, that’s probably my absolute favorite Clinique product. I’ve been raving about the Lip Smoothie for a long time now.

And last but not least is the lip color that, we ALL agree, looks great on everyone. Clinique’s Almost Lipstick in “Black Honey” is great! It really is a perfect shade for almost anyone. Almost Lipstick is sheer and very lightweight. Actually, all of my favorite Clinique lip products are light weight. I love that! I really like to layer my lip products as well. I layer all three of my Clinique favorites at times. All of my favorites work well together.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat

I am almost embarrassed to write about my complete adoration for Touche Eclat, because I’m feeling like I was one of the last people to fall in love with it. Somehow, my life hadn’t yet found a place for my new absolute “must have”. But, so what if I was the last to arrive at the party! In my interviews with Kate Walsh, Julie Benz and Melora Hardin, they all raved about YSL Touche Eclat. I simply HAD to check it out. Now, I can’t do without it. I use the Touche Eclat in “Radiant Touch” and it is, hands down, the best highlighter I have ever used. I use it both on my bare skin and over/under my makeup. Can’t get enough of it! It is the only highlighter I have ever used that actually hides any dark circles I might get under my eyes. It adds such an amazing pop and reflects light beautifully. It truly adds that extra special touch to my eye makeup. I can’t say enough about this product. It’s the perfect pick-me-up for your face. Radiant! I’ve told all of my girlfriends that if they are going to try anything new, in the world of makeup, they have to try Yves Saint Laurent’s Touche Eclat, if they haven’t already. It’s not a new product, but you must race out to get it if you’ve yet to discover it and fall in love with it as I have. I’m totally obsessed with this product! It’s brilliant! Touche Eclat: I’m sorry it took me so long to find you. But you’re in my life now and you’re here to stay. Hands down…my new favorite thing in my makeup bag.

Bobbi Brown Metallic Long-Wear Cream Shadow

Loving this! The Bobbi Brown Metallic Cream Shadow is one of the easiest ways to get a super sexy eye, with little skill or effort needed. My shade of choice is “Antique Gold” and it’s beautiful. I wear it alone and I also layer it over a dark, smoky eye. The application process couldn’t be easier. I use my finger, the texture is very smooth, and I just dab it in the areas where I want that extra bit of sass. I want the Metallic Cream Shadow in every shade. It’s got the perfect amount of sparkle in it and has a wonderful sheer effect when worn alone. I’m loving this Cream Shadow!

Clinique High Lengths Mascara

I tend to switch up the mascara that I’m using quite often. Right now, I’m really enjoying Clinique High Lengths Mascara. The mascara “brush” is a very fine-toothed comb. In fact, it’s so fine-toothed, that I had my doubts about it. I didn’t think it could possibly get my eye lashes in true diva form without a big, more common, size brush for application. Much to my delight, the High Lengths Mascara totally achieves all I need in a mascara. I have very long eye lashes and this is a great mascara for me. Plus, I love switching things up! Having a blast with this one from Clinique right now. And for extra diva lashes…I always apply a second coat.
Also, on a side note: I’m still completely in love with Clinique’s Vitamin C Lip Smoothie (previously reviewed). I still can’t recommend that one enough! Love it!

Smashbox Waterproof Shadow Liner Duo

The application of the Smashbox Waterproof Shadow Liner is very smooth and the color lasts. I’m using the shade “Cashmere” and I love the colors. “Smolder” is the next shade on my shopping list. With the “Cashmere” Duo, I use the darker shade as my eye liner and I use the lighter shade as an all-over shadow on my lids. But I also like to use the lighter shade of liner on the inner corners of my eyes from time to time. I like to mix it up and keep things fresh! I highly recommend playing around with your makeup, experimenting with new ways of applying your makeup, and trying to use one product in a few different ways. Get creative! The Smashbox Waterproof Shadow Liner Duo comes in a mirrored compact, which is always a plus.

Okay Gorgeous…Aveda has made it super easy for you to turn your favorite eye shadow into eye liner. Brush included, this is a super cool tool to have in your makeup bag. It turns your powder eye shadow into a cream and a more intense color and also transforms eye shadow into liquid eye liner. It’s oil-free and it’s formulated without parabens. Always a huge bonus! I really like how it intensifies the color of my eye shadow. I love that this product helps you to use your makeup in a new and different way. It’s all about trying new things. I might be addicted to this product. Seriously! I love it. Clinique just made it super easy for you to take the time to pamper your eyes with the All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage. Get this…it has a roll-on applicator. Talk about easy-peasy! You just throw it in your purse and roll it on underneath your eyes when you start to see you’re in need of a little pick me up. It helps to brighten and de-puff your eyes. When you apply the All About Eyes Serum, it feels super refreshing. It gives you a wonderful cooling feeling under your eyes. That’s what I’m addicted to…that fantastic cooling sensation. I love it! I keep mine right beside my computer, where I spend a lot of my time. I use it every morning as I sip my morning coffee and check emails. It wakes up my eyes. Then, of course, I reach for it again in the afternoon. I should actually call my friends at Clinique and make sure that I’m not using this one too much. I was completely hooked right away! All About Eyes Serum is a gel-serum that can be used under or over makeup and layered with other eye treatment products. It’s great to use a few hours after you’ve applied your makeup and want to freshen up. It’s a really great mid-day treat. I’m all bright eyed and bushy tailed! Check it out.

It’s always difficult to pick favorites, because I have so many. But, I’ve selected a few items from my makeup bag that have been at the top of my list lately. I love trying new products. Here’s the deal…when you really go for it and splurge on great products, it makes such a big difference. Do the research, check out what’s available. Shake up your makeup routine! It’s always fun to add something new to your makeup collection and there are so many fabulous products to choose from. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick: This shimmering powder is so beautiful, I can’t explain it. I get so excited every time I open up this compact. I’m absolutely in makeup heaven with the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick. I’m using the “Pink Quartz” Shimmer Brick and it’s become my new favorite powder. It makes my skin glow. It’s meant to be used after blush, but I also use it without blush and I really like that look as well. I dust my cheekbones with it and even my eyelids. It’s available in six different shades. Aveda Mosscara: In my interview with Alicia Silverstone she mentioned that she loves Aveda’s Mosscara. So, I had to check it out. I love this mascara! My color of choice is “Black Forest” and I love the way it makes my lashes look. It goes on very smooth and has ingredients that condition the lashes. It’s fragrance-free, there’s no smudging, and I’ve noticed that it really makes my lashes look thicker. Check it out! $16.00

Clinique Instant Lift For Brows: I am absolutely loving this brown pencil. It’s a two-in-one, with a creamy brown pencil on one end and a creamy pearlized highlighter on the other end. After I fill in my brows, I apply the highlighter right underneath my brows and it not only gives the look of a little lift but it catches the light beautifully. Sometimes, when I want that extra pop around my eyes, I lightly dab the highlighter on the inner corner of my eyes. I love that look! Highly recommend. $15.00

Korres Lip Butter: I’ve been keeping Korres Lip Butter in my purse lately. I love applying it throughout the day. Korres is such an amazing line and not only do I love their skin care products but I’m becoming a really big fan of their makeup as well. I use the “Jasmine” when I want a more subtle color and I use the “Pomegranate” when I want a little more pop of color. The Lip Butter contains shea butter and it’s very moisturizing. It feels great on my lips. You can also apply the Lip Butter to your cheeks for a natural tint. Plus, it’s petro-chemical free. $9.00

Clinique has some fabulous gift options for the holidays. A total no-brainer gift, as far as I’m concerned is the High-Shine To Go. It’s a limited edition gift and comes with 12 different mini-lip glosses, all with SPF 15. Great variety of colors! And I love the mini-lip glosses because they’re small enough to fit into your pocket. One year, when I was in high school, I went Christmas shopping with my mom at the mall and I saw this great looking lipstick set from Prescriptives that I thought would make the best gift for me and my sister. My mom bought one for each of us. I actually don’t remember if my sister liked hers or not, but I loved mine. The lipsticks lasted forever. The High-Shine To Go reminds me of that lipstick set that I got in high school. Clinique also has some great stocking stuffer options, for lips and eyes. ($20.00) They all come in very cute, tiny, makeup bags. Happy Holidays!
